The Olive Farm is located on Canada's west coast in the southern gulf islands. Nestled in the Fulford Valley on Salt Spring Island, it boasts 72 fertile acres that is allowing the dream of a Canadian Olive Grove to become a reality. With almost 3,000 trees producing olives, this visionary grove successfully harvested its first batch of 100% Canadian Olive Oil in December of 2016.
The dream of developing an olive grove in Canada is one that requires two things, above all else: Passion + Patience. The original trees were planted in 2000 and have been doing a wonderful job of adapting and growing in their new Canadian home. While we are patiently watching them grow, we have passed the time by planting, growing and harvesting just a few other things such as: blueberries, grapes, wheat, kale, quinoa, garlic, artichokes, asparagus, corn, beets, onions, carrots, more kale, pumpkins, cucumbers, zuchinni, tomatoes, basil, lettuce, cantaloupe, watermelon, papaya, peaches, nectarines, tomatillos, cherries and some more kale. Needless to say, olive trees take a long time to grow.
